Title: Zanahorias
Pairing/Characters: Dean, Sam, OCs
Rating: PG
Summary: Everybody knew the white kid's name, and it was kind of okay, even if he could tell they were joking about him in rapid-fire Spanish sometimes. Miguel snuck the two of them some beer and some barbecue, wrapped an arm around Dean's shoulders, and just like that, he was part of the family, welcome at every birthday party they ever had.
Word Count: 797
Spoilers: None.
Prompt: #12, Forget-Me-Not: True Love, Memories.
Notes/Warnings: Only lightly betaed (thank you emmademarais!) Pre-series (technically memories of pre-series, but... to-may-to, to-mah-to.) And, um, probably the most important note--I'm very much white, so I'm not exactly an expert here. However, I did try to base some of this fic off of my own experiences growing up/living in a neighborhood largely made up of Latinos. I may have inadvertently mixed Salvadoran, Mexican and Puerto Rican cultures/traditions. My apologies if I have. :-) Oh, also, in an earlier draft, emmademarais thought Dean was making burritos; I tried to make it clearer, but in case I've still failed, what he's actually making are pupusas, a kind of stuffed tortilla from El Salvador.
Disclaimer: I own only the OCs. Sam, Dean and John Winchester are not mine; I'm just borrowing them for a little fun.

Fic: A Lesson in Stillness

Title: A Lesson in Stillness
Author: nyxlily
Rating: R (for language)
Disclaimer: The usual - no money. At all.
Summary: Dean is dying, and Sam is being SO unhelpful. At least from Dean's POV.
Prompt: #1 - MONKSHOOD - Beware, A Deadly Foe is Near.
Word Count: 1,510
A/N: Apparently I'll take advantage of deadlines to the last possible minute. This story started out completely different in style, plot, tone.. okay, everything but the Winchesters. This is more an experiment than anything (different POVs of the same scene), just to see how it works. Also, I've always wanted to write a gratuitous Dean whump, and this is my attempt. Probably need more whumpage.

A Lesson in Stillness

Fic: Forgetting Why, Remember How

Title: Forgetting Why, Remember How.
Author: willoweese
Rating: PG13.
Pairing: None.
Word Count: 767
Warnings: Spoilers through to "In My Time of Dying."
Summary: A snapshot of Dean, a few days after his father’s death.
Disclaimer: ‘Supernatural,’ its characters, plots and anything else you may recognise are not mine. I’m just playing with them.
Author’s Notes:
1. Written for the spn_dailylife July/August “Flower” challenge, prompt #8 ~ Narcissus (common name ~ Daffodil)
2. The title was taken from a line in Edwin Estlin Cummings’ poem, “In Time of Daffodils.” Find the poem in its entirety here

Forgetting Why, Remember How

Fic: "Primrose Path" Gen

Title: Primrose Path
Author: barkeep
Rating: PG-13 for mild language
Disclaimer: Not mine, all I own is that case of beer
Prompt: Primrose (I can't live without you)
Summary: Sam didn't ask questions. It had been bad, bad enough to scare Dean into a chick-flick moment. Frankly, he really didn't want to know.

Fic: "I Told You So" Dean/Sam NC-17

Title: I Told You So
Author: mgbutterfly
Rating: NC-17 (it's got teh wincest)
Pairings: Dean/Sam
Disclaimer: If I owned them, I'd make them get into fights then clean each other up. But I don't, I'm merely playing in Kripke's sandbox.
Summary: Dean sat up and forward a bit to check out the damage to his face in the rear-view mirror. When he touched the cut on his cheek, now painfully throbbing, he hissed and cursed under his breath, "Don't say it, Sam."
"I told you so."

Author's Notes: This was written for spn_dailylife. My prompt was Zinnia: magenta: lasting affection. (Did I make the deadline??)
Cross posted liek whoa.

I Told You So

Fic: If You Answered Mostly C

Title: If You Answered Mostly C
Author: apreludetoanend
Rating: Mature (language)
Disclaimer: Nope, not mine
Prompt: TULIP (GENERAL) - Perfect Lover, Frame
Summary: Angsty, funny Dean-ness, in which Dean waits in the waiting room and does waiting room things, such as angsting and reading Cosmo and anthropomorphizing chairs and failing to recognize that the universe is trying to tell him something. Picks up where "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" left off.

There’s a crack in the vinyl. Probably started small, but it’s wide open now, and sorta smile shaped, in an evil clown kind of way. Doesn’t stop him from sitting, though, ‘cause, you know. Squashing evil. He does it all the time.

Fic: If you prick him, do I not bleed?

Title: If you prick him, do I not bleed?
Author: wysawyg
Disclaimer: I own nowt but my soul and some comfy walking boots. All else belongs to their owners, in the Winchester case, this is the Kripkeeper and the CW.
Summary: A thorny encounter with a rose bush leaves the Winchester brothers a little close for comfort.
Rating: I'd guess PG-13 though there is liberal use of the F-word.
Prompt: #24 - ROSE (WHITE AND RED MIXED) - Unity (I took it a little literally)
Pairings/Characters : Entirely gen.
Author notes: Written for spn_dailylife challenge. Prompt was Red and white roses symbolising Unity.
Mostly humour with a side-serving of angst. Set post-Season 2 finale. Beta’d by the wonderful TraSan.

"A rose garden?" The disbelieving words came from Dean Winchester who was currently stretched out on one of the two motel beds in the room, working a kink out of his back.

prompt # 15

Fandom: Supernatural
Title: Razzle Dazzle
Characters: Dean, Sam
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Language, crack
Disclaimer: Not mine!
Beta: Who else but the divine marysue007? Who else, I ask you?
Prompt: 15: Petunia-Resentment, Anger, Your Presence Soothes Me
Summary: When Dean comes around, hours later at the motel of Sam’s choosing, he’s groggy and has a pounding headache, or so he says. He’s also furious. “So, what? That thing slipped me some kind of magic roofie? What the fuck kinda messed up is that?”

Challenge #1 Winner: sardonicsmiley

Again, congrats to sardonicsmiley for taking the first challenge by storm with "The Dish Ran Away with the Spoon." You all wrote lovely fics, however, and shay_renoylds and I look forward to the next batch as much I'm sure all of you do! So enjoy writing 'em and reading 'em as they're posted, give each other feedback and generally spread the supernaturally fragrant smell of Winchester fic!love about the land and convince tell sardonicsmiley that this banner I made her is really quite truly the loveliest thing ever:

Congrats again, and thank you to everyone for participating! P.S. I'm Rose, you might see me fic about here and there, I'm the invisible and lazy assistant mod here at Everyday Things who hopes to become more active as we get things rolling (ideas always welcome!), and this time around, I promise to actually submit my own fic on time (I swear, Shaynie, I swear!)...

Aaaand, of course I'm the only one who needed the extension... LOL.

Title: No Rest At All In Freedom
Pairing: Dean/OFC
Rating: PG-13
Summary: She thinks, suddenly, that she'll have to make him dinner, and oh, Lord, what is he doing here anyway?
Word Count: 1125
Spoilers: None.
Notes/Warnings: Written for the prompt "coffee maker." I love this challenge comm, but I always seem to write weird, kind of crappy fic for it. *facepalm* As before, I kind of like this fic but I don't know that anybody else will. Unbetaed because I ran out of time and for which I apologize. I'm sure emmademarais could have kicked my ass a thousand times over if I'd asked her to beta this. LOL. Title from Let Him Fly by Patty Griffin.
Disclaimer: I suppose I do own the OFC. Dean's not mine, though. I'm just borrowing him.
